Work Experience

Mar 2020 - Sep 2021: Mobile Application Developer for Dicam Technology Ltd

Dicam Technology Ltd provides microprocessor-based control solutions for farmers. I was put in charge of the design, development and deployment of Dicam Charts, an app which presents historical data of a farm’s parameters for customers to monitor. I also worked on updates to the main settings control app, Dicam 2, which included an alarm notification system, Bluetooth communication, user experience improvements as well as significant bug fixes. This job has taught me how to build software as part of a team with a scrum methodology to meet the requirements of the company and its stakeholders, skills which I have brought to university by having a role of leadership in group work. Working through the coronavirus pandemic, I communicated solutions to my colleagues remotely and in office and I wrote documentation for a developer’s work when they left the company so other team members could understand it. Dicam has consolidated my learning while studying at university, an example being my work with SQLite for graph data point storage which strengthened my grade in my Databases module.

2017-2020 - Drum Tutor

I worked with three students, ranging from primary school age to adults, who wanted to be introduced to the world of music through drumming. I identified where they were struggling and helped them improve their abilities by applying different teaching methods depending on their weaknesses.

2017-2020 - Leader, Horham Baptist Church Youth Group

I led young people aged 10 to 16 and supported them with their various needs. I helped organise group outings, activities and games which were accessible to all children. Another main role was working the sound desk and visuals for presentations as well as generally supporting in IT tasks.
